The 9-1-1 franchise is taking a break at a particularly interesting time in its storytelling. Unlike its divisive mid-season scheduling last season, ABC rectified its approach for the 2025-2026 cycle by preventing another extended hiatus for some of its biggest scripted series. After its holiday break, 9-1-1 and its ongoing spinoff, 9-1-1: Nashville have already returned this year with new episodes.
