Illumination gave animated movie fans a real surprise with The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. The cosmic adventure for Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, and other Nintendo characters is made with the same 3D animation style the studio has utilized since the beginning, 2010's Despicable Me. Illumination's animated movies have all maintained a similar look, even as DreamWorks, Sony, and others have branched out.
