James Cameron's Avatar franchise shows no signs of slowing down in popularity. The end of 2026 will mark the 17th anniversary of the first Avatar movie, and the fact that this franchise continues to grow and remain profitable is pretty remarkable. Cameron is no stranger to blockbusters, but the $6.5 billion (and counting) in global box office is on an entirely different level. Typically, when a franchise gets this big, it begins to wear thin, but that hasn't been the case for Avatar.
