Glen Powell’s The Running Man remake arrived in 2025 carrying expectations most mid-budget studio movies would envy. It paired Powell’s rising star power with Baby Driver director Edgar Wright’s reputation for turning genre material into distinctive, stylized crowd-pleasers. It even carried the rare stamp of approval from author Stephen King himself. On paper,The Running Man should have been a clean theatrical win for Paramount.
