Melissa O'Neil clarifies one plot in The Rookie season 8, saving fans of Lucy Chen and Tim Bradford from a major disappointment. ABC's 2025 programming went dark earlier than NBC and CBS because it also started earlier. When it returns in the new year, however, the network will be rolling out its full roster of scripted series after saving The Rookie season 8 and Will Trent season 4 for a winter premiere.
