K-dramas become more and more popular each year, but 2025’s new releases were some of the best dramas of the decade. Between the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown, the creation of Netflix original K-dramas, and the “Hallyu” cultural wave starting as early as the 1990s, Korean dramas have steadily grown more ubiquitous worldwide. Now, most modern K-dramas reach far beyond Northeast Asia.
