The X-Men can never catch a break, and their next extinction-level threat may already be on the way in 2026. Krakoa's destruction and the loss of mutants' sovereignty left deep scars that haven’t healed. Even as mutant survivors rebuild, the shadow of betrayal and extinction lingers. Every attempted resurgence since Fall of X has been met with new threats.
