Few medical dramas have ever truly achieved what House did during its eight-season run, but even in the midst of a great show, there are episodes that viewers can find difficult to watch. House was equal parts procedural and psychological character study, which helped the show find its audience quickly after its 2004 premiere. Dr. Gregory House (Hugh Laurie) is tough to love, but brilliant to watch.
