Just as Abby was driven by losing her father, Kaitlyn Dever looked to her real-lifefather for her role in The Last of Us. Abby was introduced in season 2 as a brutal and hate-filled woman who was willing to kill Joel (Pedro Pascal) as retribution for her Firefly father's death. The murder sparked Ellie (Bella Ramsey)'s season-long crusade to find and kill her.
