Doctor Who Officially Has One Chance To Reboot Canon

Doctor Who is very much in distress, and the chances of seeing a full canon reboot have dramatically increased. Following Doctor Who season 15's finale, Ncuti Gatwa's exit, and the ending of the BBC's partnership with Disney, Doctor Who's future already looked uncertain. That was before a June 2026 announcement that revealed Doctor Who's previously-confirmed Christmas special had been canceled, Russell T Davies was stepping down as showrunner with immediate effect, and the series' future production would go out to "competitive tender."
